I’m a GIS professional with over seven years of experience, currently leading the GIS program for the Municipality of Chinhoyi in Zimbabwe. I hold a BSc Eng. (Hons) in Geo-Informatics and Land Surveying, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Land and Geographic Information Systems from the University of Zimbabwe. I’m now in my final year of a two-year MSc in Big Data Analytics.
My work focuses on transforming the Municipality of Chinhoyi’s GIS into a modern, enterprise-level system. This includes developing web applications, migrating legacy systems, coordinating GIS activities across departments, and building practical solutions that support planning, service delivery, and decision-making.
Over the years, I have worked with a number of organisations, including the City of Harare, Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission & Distribution Company (ZETDC), Zoological Society of London, The World Bank, United Nations, GIZ, VEI Dutch Water Operators (Netherlands), Abmist Properties (South Africa), and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC). These collaborations have strengthened my experience in geospatial technology, municipal systems, and data-driven solutions.
Alongside my municipal role, I am the Founding Director of GMW Global, a small tech company specialising in geospatial technology, GIS trainings, ICT solutions, web development, and digital consulting. I also founded Kalystar (kalystar.com), an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers across Zimbabwe.
In 2023, my wife and I started the Seth Foundation (seth.foundation), a community-focused initiative that provides support and a safe space for individuals and families affected by pregnancy loss and poor pregnancy outcomes. Our aim is to raise awareness, break the silence, and walk with people through their grief.
I’m open to collaborations, partnerships, and consulting work. You can reach me at info@wellingtonmunjoma.com
